Project Overview: AgriBots is an exciting project run by Competensys Solutions where students work on developing robotic systems designed to analyze soil data, including moisture, fertility, and other vital parameters, to help farmers optimize their crop yields and manage their land more effectively.

Job Description:

Role Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Robotics Engineer to join our innovative team. As a Robotics Engineer at Competensys Solutions, you will play a crucial role in designing, coding, and engineering our robotic systems. You will collaborate closely with our 3D design team to create efficient and reliable robots that meet the needs of modern agriculture. Additionally, you will mentor and guide trainees working on the AgriBots project, helping them develop their skills and understanding of robotics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robotic systems for soil data analysis.
  • Collaborate with 3D designers to create CAD models and ensure manufacturability of parts using CNC machining and 3D printing.
  • Write and test firmware and software for robot control and data processing.
  • Integrate sensors and actuators for optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Conduct simulations and real-world testing to validate robot performance.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Work closely with the entire project team, including biologists, software developers, and product managers, to ensure seamless integration of robotic systems.
  • Mentor and guide trainees, providing them with hands-on learning experiences and helping them understand advanced robotics concepts.
  • Continuously research and implement new technologies to improve robotic performance and capabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing robotic systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) and familiarity with 3D printing and CNC machining processes.
  • Strong understanding of sensor integration, control systems, and electronics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts and solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in agricultural robotics or similar applications.
  • Knowledge of soil science and agricultural practices.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and computer vision techniques.
  • Experience in project management and using version control systems (e.g., Git).
